Results of the 2023 survey for Truffleupagus Vegan Yums
Thank you so much for everyone who took the time to fill in the survey, 137 of you to be exact.
Please note I am not a data analyst so the results are estimates and not exact percentages.
I also have taken the liberty to add some thoughts and observations of my own , as it is important information for me .
I found out a lot of interesting information that will help me in moving my business forward and also gives me a peek into the vegan scene and what it means to people.
The majority of people agreed that when available , they would rather support a fully vegan business, with Harrys place and Truffleupagus Vegan Yums being mainly mentioned . Other business (who aren’t fully vegan) but provide great vegan options were mentioned too, such as Causeway Cafe and Maggie Mays that both seemed to be great options for people with children.
The demand for omni places seemed high , as many people also still live in omni households.
The majority were happy to pay anything between £10/20 pounds for a main meal and around £3 to £8 on a snack depending on what it was. Market prices were mentioned on a few occasions too and most were happy to pay £8/£10 for good quality food.
I was happy to hear and read this as Truffleupagus Vegan Yums provides great value but quality food well within these price ranges for both main meals and snacks.
My Christmas hamper menu has remained the same price for the last three years also .
It was an almost 50/50 split on junk/vs/healthy food with many saying they eat healthily at home and junk food is a treat, to the rest saying they are fed up with burgers and greasy food and want good healthy options.
Allergies also play a role in customer demand and gluten free is the main option.
The majority were aware that Truffleupagus Vegan Yums offers a fully plant based healthy option at the majority of markets and those that didn’t know, were happy to hear that and would support in the future. I also have gluten free mains and sweets at every event and occasion
People mentioned also that they were fed up with stir fries and so forth as the only vegan options and wanted to be a bit more adventurous in their choices.
Truffleupagus Vegan Yums aims to provide a wide variety of world and street food especially at markets and in their monthly delivery menu , catering for a wide range of palettes
The most exciting revelation in the survey was the continued interest in the Vegan festival, with the majority of people saying they have either, been, or are intending to go. The need for fully vegan events , in my opinion, is paramount, both for connection and to be able to support small business . However often times we hear that it is falling short of peoples expectations. So to read that the majority felt it was not only still needed, but it was a highlight of the year, meant a lot.
Truffleupagus Vegan Yums has attended every single one here in Northern Ireland as a trader and am delighted to be returning next year.
There were only a few negatives to the information I found out. I wish I had asked a few more questions, as I had a very receptive audience willing to take part and give their thoughts and I could have asked a few more. But in general it was a very positive experience and I gained a lot of very important feedback regarding the vegan situation here in Northern Ireland and most importantly feedback for my business
So thank you so much for all you help
LETS GO 2024
